Jennifer Aniston, born on February 11th, 1969, is best known for her role as Rachel Green on Friends for which she won an Emmy and a Golden Globe award. After Friends ended she started focusing more on her film career, with roles in several romantic comedies. When she married actor Brad Pitt in 2000, she became the envy of most women on the planet.
When Aniston was cast in the role of Rachel Green in 1994, she was a virtual newcomer to the TV scene, but quickly gained mainstream attention together with her other five “friends”. The series became one of the best loved by fans, who were saddened to see it end ten years later. Thanks to the popularity of the show, Aniston, together with her female costars, managed to secure a contract for a whopping one million dollars per episode for the final season of Friends, thus going down in history as one of the highest paid TV actresses of all time.
Shortly before the series ended, Aniston started receiving film proposals, all of them romantic comedies which were not hugely successful at the box office. However, in 2002, her role in the independent film, The Good Girlearned her some rave reviews, as well as some well-deserved recognition with the Independent Spirit Award and Satellite Award. After this film, she went on to act in the 2003 blockbuster comedy Bruce Almighty with Jim Carey, and Along Came Polly with Ben Stiller the following year.
In 2007, she made a brief appearance on TV in the sitcom Dirt, with friend Courtney Cox. Most recently, she’s appeared in The Break-Up, Marley & Me, and in 2009, He’s Just Not That Into You films that were met with relative commercial success.
Her marriage to Brad Pitt seemed to be a match made in heaven, till their divorce five years later. Their break-up was a big shocker, and is still remembered as one of the most famous celebrity divorces. Brad Pitt had allegedly cheated on Aniston with Angelina Jolie, his co-star in Mr. and Mrs. Smith and current wife. She’s been in and out of relationships since then, and has faced several rumors of pregnancy, the most recent saying she was having a baby with Gerard Butler, her co-star in The Bounty Hunter.
Her most recent work sees her back on the small screen with a Netflix comedy called Murder Mystery alongside Adam Sandler. It’s a story of a couple who go on holiday in Europe and end up being framed for the murder of a millionaire. A very light-hearted and funny watch for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
